Example complaints

Engine: “While driving the car it just stopped. Engine shut off and left me stranded. Crank is damaged and I was told I need a new engine. Land rover will not replace the engine under warranty. Said I need to pay for out of pocket. Apparently there is a recall for my year, make and model vehicle for this same issue. Land rover claims my VIN is not part of the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11365884, filed 2020-10, 36,500 miles

Electrical system: “As I was driving down the interstate doing about 75 miles per hour the car lost all power without a warning. It was at night in the middle of no where. I almost had a bad accident but I was able to veer off the road before the car brakes locked. I was unable to use safety flashers.”

NHTSA complaint #11737305, filed 2026-05

Other or unknown: “I started having trouble with my SUV the engine light turned on and then the truck would start shacking out of the no where and turn off all of a suden, this happened to me several times, I took it to its dealer and my truck was at the dealer for a little over a month. Since thats happened I honestly dont feel comfertable now.”

NHTSA complaint #11173384, filed 2019-01

Exterior lighting: “I am reporting a premature failure of the daytime running light (DRL) system on my Range Rover Velar. Both DRLs have failed within approximately one year of each other, indicating a likely systemic defect rather than normal wear. The DRLs are integrated LED components within the headlamp assembly and are not serviceable independently. When the DRL fails, the entire headlight assembly must typically be replaced. I have been informed that a single replacement headlight assembly can cost approximately $3,000 (parts only, excluding labor). …”
