“I have had my Lexus since 2007 I have many times recieved letters for my recall on the air bags recall id rtpw-48q I called and spoke with Lexus who then set up an account with me and then found me a location to have the recall fixed this was around october of 2018 since then I have had some troubling findings that I believe my husband at the time has possibly done things to my car that could potentially harm or kill not only me but my 6 year old I do no my dash has been removed and replaced and since iv seen my husband in his mechanic shop pull dashes off I no he is experienced I was also…”

NHTSA complaint #11267211, filed 2019-10, 150,000 miles

“My car is included in the takata airbag recall. It has been more than a year since we were notified of this problem. To date it has not been fixed and there is no clear date when they will be able to fix it. I've been instructed by Lexus that the remedy for now is that nobody can sit in the front passenger side seat. That is totally unacceptable. I feel as though they are dragging their feet in the hopes that as time goes by, more of the older cars will be taken off the road so they won't need to be repaired. We need action on this, it is a major safety and convenience issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11042110, filed 2017-11, 1 miles

“Takata recall as of today, 1/8/17, the recall status from Lexus is still recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available according to the NHTSA-takata airbag inflator expansion phases/zones, I am in zone a. Given the date of my car, I would say any degradation expected has occurred and leaves me in danger daily. In the meantime, I am riding almost daily in the passenger seat where the airbag could could cause me serious damage or death. How long does the NHTSA allow manufacturers to go without remedies? What recourse do I have, other than me riding in the back seat when my husband drives? …”

NHTSA complaint #10940427, filed 2017-01, 59,000 miles

“Takata recall. Recall notice came some months ago. Was told by dealer on 5/28/17 that it would take until september -- after the summer when I need the car most -- before it can be fixed. Totally unacceptable.”

NHTSA complaint #10991713, filed 2017-05, 16,000 miles

“I was driving and my car has a certain jerking motion to it, as I tried to break and accelerate the car wasn’t able to stop or move properly. As a result I rear ended the car in front of me. In addition to that my airbag wouldn’t go off after the accident so it seems like there was a malfunction. Lexus always assured me that all system ran well and that there was nothing wrong with the car. …”
