“I had an accident that was very severe and airbags did not deploy. I filed a complaint with Lexus and did not get a satisfactory answer. I felt the impact through the steering wheel. All I want to know why airbags did not deploy. Please help me with that.”
NHTSA complaint #10680301, filed 2015-02, 149,500 miles“2007 es 350 accelerator did not return to normal after accelerating. Instead, slow and sluggish pedal return was experienced by me as driver. I was on the highway and had the luxury of waiting for pedal to return. Only happened one time; floor mats were in car at the time but I do not believe they had anything to do with event. Floor mats were removed with recall notice in 2009”
NHTSA complaint #10307099, filed 2010-02, 13,000 miles“June 9, 2009 my 2007 es 350 Lexus took off with me reaching a frightening speed of 95 miles an hr when I reached the mat under my right knee and yanked the carpet and at last freed the gas and brake pedal. I know the where both involved as I hit the brakes to no avail as the speed became frightening and keeping it on the road was a miracle. I think it is unacceptable that I did not receive any recall notice for almost 4 most after this incident.”
NHTSA complaint #10293670, filed 2009-11, 28,000 miles“The floor mats on my Lexus 350 caused the accelerator to stick in a depressed position resulting in a high rate of speed. Fortunately for me I was able to figure it out. For a moment I had the impression that I did not have breaks. This must get fixed or there will be deaths. The reason for this is due to a number of factors. 1) the floor mat was not fastened to the car using the clips. I had just washed the car and I was unable to fasten the floor mats into the clips. The design of the clips is poor. 2) the floor mat slid forward. …”
NHTSA complaint #10285092, filed 2009-09, 25,000 miles“On 07/2009 we took our 2007 Lexus ES350 in for service with 20k miles. It was being taken in for a brake problem, faulty visor and vehicle tilted/leaning. I was advised that the brakes had 1mm left (near brake failure). A Lexus tech replaced the brakes, visor and confirmed that the vehicle was tilted/leaning. Since then the vehicle returned several times for service including but not limited to the following: brakes and tilt/leaning. The brakes were replaced again and another tech confirmed that the vehicle was tilted/leaning with visual and physical inspection. …”
