“While driving on a freeway at speed limit my vehicle started leaning to the left and pulling to the right without me turning the steering wheel or making any turns, which almost resulted in a vehicular accident. Shortly after my windshield wipers went off without me turning them on and my gas gauge which at the time read about 3/4 of a tank went down to about 1/8.”

NHTSA complaint #11162603, filed 2018-12, 91,500 miles

“Passenger and driver rear view mirrors fail to come back to level position after backing up. The occurrence is random, so it become a hazard as you might think it has leveled but it actually has not. It many cases I've trying to change lanes in the highway only to realize that in the last second of decision I cannot see anything because the mirror is pointing down. Dealer says they cannot reproduce the problem but acknowledge defects on the mechanism. Passenger side was replaced before warranty expired. However it has already broken again along with the driver side.”

NHTSA complaint #10379659, filed 2011-01, 45,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2006 Lexus GS300. The contact stated that the driver side rearview mirror was faded. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The vehicle was notified that the mirror needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10852966, filed 2016-04, 106,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2006 Lexus GS300. The contact stated that the interior rear view mirror became discolored and developed numerous scratches over a period of time which distorted the vision. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10679093, filed 2015-01, 18,000 miles

“The front window rear view mirror coating has come off from the inside of the mirror and has very very poor reflective qualities. With approx. 60% - 70% of the reflective mirror coating gone it makes it almost impossible to see what's behind you using this mirror and could definitely contribute or cause a accident. The dealer said this happens to this make and model but did not say they would replace it and said the approx. Cost for this mirror (I cant remember the exact cost) is around $800 or more dollars (expensive because of the electronics that are inside the rear view mirror). …”
