“My 2014 Lexus IS 250 driver's side door will not unlock or let me in at random. When approaching the vehicle and pressing the unlock button on my key fob, all doors will unlock except the driver's side door. When this occurs, you must walk to the other side of the vehicle, manually unlock the door, and then it will work again until the next time you need access to the vehicle. This is a huge safety concern, as there is no guarantee that I will be able to enter the safety of my vehicle when needed. …”

NHTSA complaint #10711977, filed 2015-04, 5,000 miles

“My 2014 Lexus IS 250 currently does not have working locks. I had previously owned a 2010 Lexus IS 250 with issues with the locks. The actuator was changed and the car works for a minimal amount of time and then the actuator stops working again. It is very expensive to fix and the dealership wants $555 dollars to replace it per door. Currently no locks on my 2014 Lexus work. The dealership wants over $2,200 dollars to replace the actuators. This is a safety issue. If my son were to unlock his door in the back and someone were to try to open his door I could not lock it to protect him. …”

NHTSA complaint #11327172, filed 2020-06, 102,000 miles

“The battery goes dead for no reason. This has happened 3 times and I took it to the dealer but they tell me that everything is fine and that I must have left something on. Once maybe but not 3 times, every time this happens the car is parked in my driveway. There is no dealer near me so I have to drive 50 miles one way just for them to tell me that the battery is fully charged. Well no kidding, I just drove 50 miles with the battery being charged by the alternator. It doesn't happen all the time but a new car shouldn't have to be jump started in order to get to work. …”

NHTSA complaint #10937534, filed 2016-12, 23,000 miles

“Suspension, control arms, shocks, axels, etc. Aren't strong enough to hold the weight of the car, making the tires have a negative offset and cause extreme amounts of wear on far inside of the tire. The navigational screen conintues to shut off and then turn back on while driving. I find this a concern because it happens when I reverse as well”

NHTSA complaint #11389035, filed 2021-01

“I recently leased a 2014 Lexus IS 250 on 11/24/2013 and ever since the first month of having the vehicle I have been having issues with driver side mechanism. The issue happens periodically and without warning. The problem happening is when I attempt to open the locked door with the door handle or with the remote the car will continuously beep and not open the driver side door. All of the other doors including the trunk will open but except the driver?s side door. …”
