Example complaints

Brakes: “I enter the vehicle, apply my foot to the brake to start the vehicle, engaging the rear end lights. I keep my foot applied to the brakes, not shifting the car out of park, while I researched directions to my destination. My vehicle remained stationary I realized I had forgotten something, so disengage the breaks and shut the vehicle off. I begin to exit and as my second leg is half way out, the vehicle begins to roll backwards. …”

NHTSA complaint #11156100, filed 2018-12, 19,364 miles

Air bags: “I received a few letters in the mail at the beginning of 2018 for a recall and I currently live overseas in germany due to my husband being in the military and there is no place for me to get my recall, if I truly have one, fixed. The military will not ship my car back to the USA in october 2019 if it is not fixed. Please help.”

NHTSA complaint #11151388, filed 2018-11

Engine: “Reported sudden drop in fuel mileage at 1+yr, dealer said no problem detected, shortly after (10k? Miles) normal maintenance plug replacement engine warning came on, engine ran rough, #1plug was burned up , 7 months later engine went to safe mode at 65mph, no power, drive train disabled, no shift... Dealer claimed #2 injector failed, recommended replacing all of them. Seems to be a systemic problem if they recommended replacing all of them. Lexus woodland hills.”

NHTSA complaint #11206205, filed 2019-05, 92,000 miles

Forward collision avoidance: “The contact owns a 2016 Lexus NX200T. While driving various speeds, the pre-collision avoidance system would erroneously activate, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (Lexus of huntsville in huntsville, alabama), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. Computer printouts confirmed that the avoidance system had activated on four separate occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200. Updated 10/18/17”
