Example complaints

Latches, locks and linkages: “Lightly leaned on door when it was shutting, making it so it wouldn't shut all the way, soft close system engaged jamming the door and making it impossible without destroying the door/motor to open even with the emergency release latch in the map compartment of my vehicle (driver side under the electronic release button) the door eventually threw up an error letting me know the door was malfunctioning and was ajar when it wasn't. …”

NHTSA complaint #11552433, filed 2023-10

Body and structure: “Drivers door latch takes a long time to unlatch/latch there have been numerous times where the door won’t close and stay closed. My door has also had to be left open as it won’t latch. This is a serious safety hazard there was a recall but my vin was not included.”

NHTSA complaint #11724674, filed 2026-03

Back-over prevention (rear camera): “The contact owns a 2019 Lincoln Continental. The contact stated that while reversing, the backup camera image was very distorted, foggy, and cloudy. The contact later received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V644000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 25,000. …”

NHTSA complaint #11501476, filed 2023-01, 25,000 miles

Electrical system: “Drivers door latch is failing to engage properly making it so the door can not closed right away. No matter how you close the door it always pushes right back open sometimes the door will semi latch but still poses the hazard of opening while driving. It has been inspected by the dealer to confirm the issue. There has been a recall for this exact issue however my vin number was not included and upon contacting Lincoln I was told there was nothing that they could do and my options were to wait until there could be the recall extended to my vehicle or just pay out of pocket. …”
