Example complaints

Back-over prevention (rear camera): “The contact owns a 2016 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera was intermittently inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11770858, filed 2026-10, 100,000 miles

Seat belts: “The contact owns a 2016 Lincoln Mkz Hybrid. While driving various speeds, the rear middle passenger seat belt would not latch. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the latch needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that the front driver's seat belt shoulder harness would tighten without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10957866, filed 2017-03, 58,000 miles

Wheels: “The 2016 Mkz Hybrid does not come with a spare tire. This was not told to me when the car was purchased. The absence of a spare tire puts one in danger. This should be well documented at time of purchase. They provide a spray can of junk that is useless unless you have a pin in your tire. Any damage to the tire and you are stranded until you can get to a tire outlet that has the tire you need. It is a disgrace that on a luxury vehicle this absence puts you at risk. Can you imagine being stranded on open highway at 2 in the morning. …”
