“Brand new 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. Electric doors do not lock until a speed of 15-18 MPH is reached. Ford's manual states: doors lock at 12 MPH . Dealer could not fix it. Contacted ford. They consider it a non issue and closed the file. I find this a safety hazard since it takes a long time in busy commute traffic to gain this speed.”
NHTSA complaint #10158794, filed 2006-06, 25 miles“In november 2008 I purchased a 2006 Lincoln zypher with 28000 miles. At this time the passenger back interior door handle was broken. The dealer argued with me but fixed the item. One year later in the fall of 2009, the drivers side back seat handle also broke and would not open from the inside. Passengers had to roll down the window and pull the handle from the outside to open the door. If the car is not running you are trapped. Feb 2012, the drivers side handle also broke, last night march 30 2012 the passenger handle broke. …”
