“I was maneuvering the car in my driveway and it seemed to accelerate suddenly. I drove off my driveway and impacted bushes and a low stone wall. I do not think I pushed the accelerator.”

NHTSA complaint #11551345, filed 2023-10

“On one occasion, with the shifter set to reverse, pressing on the accelerator resulted in the car lurching forward. This problem first appeared in April 2023. I do not know if this is a drive problem, software problem, or something else. My safety was put at risk as I nearly hit the back wall of the garage. I have reported this problem to Lucid some time ago but Lucid has not responded. Neither Lucid nor any other entity has attempted to inspect or make any corrections. There were no warnings or symptoms from the car prior to the problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #11533338, filed 2023-07

“Yesterday around 10am I was going to pick up a friend from a car shop, I used my lucid navigation to follow the address, when I got there I went to to business next door because the address took me there. When I noticed I was at the wrong business, in my mind the goal was to park somewhere and make a u turn. Out of nowhere the car started to accelerate without control, i tried press to break petal nothing work, I let go of the petal nothing work and I decided to put the car on park it was accelerate left and right from want to street to another. It hit bushes and the car still didn't stopped. …”

NHTSA complaint #11768508, filed 2026-10

“Actual miles displayed after charge on the display compared to actual are discrepant by about 30%. One my first and second charge I thought I was missing some thing but on one of the charge I noted the car to have charged to 413 miles and shown in the attachment below, I drove 210.2 miles and remaining charge was 64 miles (loss of 139 miles or 33% (139/413). I am not ready to buy the argument that it depends on weather or driving etc. I am living in southern California weather has been 60-80 F. I having driving at 20 -70 miles / hr and using regenerative breaking.”

NHTSA complaint #11506846, filed 2023-02

“The Lucid Air Touring rapidly accelerated from a full stop in a line of cars. (The traffic hold up was due to a road striping crew that stopped traffic.) My wife was the driver and I was in the passenger seat and the car was in drive/hold mode before suddenly taking off; the car in front of us was about 20' ahead. In spite of my wife's attempt to stop the vehicle, it would not stop until it hit the vehicle in front of us and pushed it into the vehicle in front of it. Additionally, the vehicle's built-in safety features to brake automatically in such a situation did not work. …”
