“I had a recall notice from the dealer the cruise control deactivation switch on my truck. I took it to a dealership in tuscaloosa alabama, where they replaced it, but let the wires just hanging loose in the engine, very sloppy work, also prior the recall the switch burnt out melting the cruise control button on the steering wheel, they said they don't cover that even though the switch they recalled caused it.”
NHTSA complaint #10278970, filed 2009-07“This is about an already existing recall for Mazda 1998-2002 b-series cruise control deactivation switch safety recall 4707h. I have spoken with Mazda representative several times. The problem is that they are telling me to take my truck down to the nearest dealer and they will fix the problem. That is fine except the nearest dealer to me is over 200 miles away. According the letter I got it states there is a possibility of an underhood fire. I don't feel it is safe to be driving my truck that far if it could result in a fire. …”

He has been waiting on the parts for the repair for a year and a half and the dealer is currently stating that the parts are unavailable. The contact was informed not to use his vehicle speed control. He called the dealer over six months ago and stated that they should be the one calling him to inform him when the parts will be available. The contact has experienced tire failure with his original firestone tires. …”

NHTSA complaint #8016743, filed 2002-08“Consumer received a recall letter . Originally another dealer sold the business to present dealer. Consumer called dealer, and he said parts were not in, and to call back in a few months. Consumer caleed back on 15th of nov 1999, dealer said they would put in order. Dealer now is telling consumer that they need a specific VIN #. Consumer feels dealer should have said this from the beginning. Consumer has not been able to use cruise control since july because the recall letter said it may stick .”
