“Brake booster going out on my 2010 cx-9 at 97,000 miles Mazda is playing games saying if I bring to dealer and pay $120 diagnostic fee, they may assist if confirmed. Supervisor would not quote work but offered range of $800-$1300 for repair, would not provide how much Mazda would cover. Local shop charges $450. Mazda ripoff!”

NHTSA complaint #11067260, filed 2018-02, 97,000 miles

“Vehicle skids during rain/snow condition as if I will lose control of car. Brakes were checked & changed but the problem still occurs. I experienced on several different occasions over the past years. I contacted Mazda dealer and was told I had to wait to hear from manufacture...still waiting.”

NHTSA complaint #11020518, filed 2017-08, 111,000 miles

“Nhtsa recall number 16v-593. My car makes a rattle when I step on the brakes. When it is wet outside my brakes make a different noise until they dry out. Mazda said it wasn't a problem. Another business I go to said it's probably the rocker arms that need replacement.”

NHTSA complaint #11066157, filed 2018-01, 40,000 miles

“When it is cold outside and I am backing out or driving forward and I brake it makes a grinding noise. I have had my brakes changed and that was not the problem. It only does it when it is cold out side after it gets warmed up it stops.”

NHTSA complaint #10614860, filed 2014-07, 34,353 miles

“On 4 separate occasions, the brakes failed to stop the car. The last 2 times, the car not only didn't stop but it accelerated. I could have been involved in a couple of very serious accidents. Each time, I was driving on city streets on dry pavement. The last occurrence was on aug 14, 2017, and I tried to stop the car by using the gear shift, but the car didn't stop right away. The dealership is currently working with Mazda tech support, but they can't find a cause for this. They want to install a flight recorder, and for me to take the car back so I can drive it until this happens again. …”
