“Lane assist system acts on it's own and attempts to override my input. It can be very jarring especially at high speeds. I notice the issue mostly when I'm on the highway/freeway and attempting to lane change or take an exit ramp. The system trys to correct my steering and I have to briefly fight against it to maintain control.”
NHTSA complaint #11730348, filed 2026-04“Within 100 days of purchasing the CX70 new ,we noticed that the collision avoidance system was malfunctioning . It would alert when no car was near us . It did not alert every time a car was actually in our right blind spot or moving through our right blind spot . The malfunctions were random and happened in a variation of conditions and driving situations . We began to mistrust the system and continually disregarded many of its alerts . …”
NHTSA complaint #11760122, filed 2026-08“Multiple times when there is a car on my left or right blind spot and I am merging into their lane the warning does not go off and has caused me to nearly collide with the cars without my intervention. The warnings only work if the cars are behind me not adjacently. This is misleading because the , i-ACTIVSENSE says its 360 degrees, but its not alerting or warning to cars to my left or right. I do not trust the safety systems.”
NHTSA complaint #11706775, filed 2025-12“Often, when I drive on highways, I find that the blind spot indicator turns on when there are no cars around. It creates unnecessary panic and confusion during long road trips, increasing driver's stress and anxiety.”
NHTSA complaint #11630693, filed 2024-12“I have put on over 20,000 miles since I purchased new in September 2024. The entire time of ownership, I have dealt with false blind spot warnings. With a clean car/clean sensors, it doesn't matter the time of day/night... when driving at highway speeds, the right rear blind spot warning comes on intermittently even when driving in the right lane of interstate with only the shoulder of the interstate next to me and no other obstructions. When this happens while in the passing lane and believing there is nobody next to me and I put on the blinker and try to switch lanes.... …”
