“The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes-Benz C280. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, there was a loud sound coming from the vehicle. The contact pulled over safely and noticed that the sunroof had shattered. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 85,500.”

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V918000 (VISIBILITY) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.”
