“On October 8, 2025 the sunroof exploded from within while driving. There was no external force involved. It sounded like a gunshot going off in the car. My wife and I looked at each other expecting to see blood, but fortunately, there was none. We were both quite shook up. Upon inspection the remaining shards of glass were pointed upward, although that is difficult to see from the pictures. Fortunately, the shade was closed so the glass shards did not fall on me or my wife. No other debris besides broken glass was found on the shade.”
NHTSA complaint #11696868, filed 2025-10“In December 2024, I brought my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB to Mercedes-Benz Beverly Hills for scheduled service. They told me the vehicle had a recall and booked me for a future appointment, but I was unable to attend because I was out of town. I called the dealer multiple times afterwards to reschedule, but they never told me the reason for the recall or explained the safety risk. I recently checked my VIN myself and discovered that the recall is related to a high-voltage battery defect that may cause sudden loss of power and battery fire. …”
NHTSA complaint #11697675, filed 2025-11“The affected component is the high-voltage traction battery and related battery management and bus-bar connection systems. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am reporting a safety concern because my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V050, which identifies a risk that the high-voltage battery could fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. It is also subject to NHTSA Recall 25V487, which identifies a defect involving the high-voltage battery bus-bar connection that may cause a sudden loss of drive power without warning. …”
NHTSA complaint #11760111, filed 2026-08“When driving above 40 mph, I have experienced seemingly random brakes, which most likely is due to the automatic emergency braking system. I have seen it work properly when a car cuts me off in traffic, which it makes sense then. But in several instances, it's pumped the brakes when there is no obstacle or car around. It's quite scary since you might get hit from behind. One time it braked so suddenly I was jolted forward in my seat. It also has an issue with parking sensors going off also randomly going under 10 mph. All of them activate on red.”
NHTSA complaint #11642086, filed 2025-02“There is a reflective chrome accent on the dashboard of the EQB 300 that reflects sunlight directly into the drivers eyes when the car is oriented in certain directions at certain times of day. The light is blinding and impacts the ability of the driver to see the road and respond appropriately. I notified the dealership and Mercedes customer service, and they said there was nothing that they could do and that this was a buyer beware type situation.”
