2024: “My vehicle is a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300. Despite the nationwide recall (NHTSA 26V073000) for high-voltage battery fire risk, the manufacturer is providing conflicting and dangerous safety information. I was verbally instructed by dealership representatives to park my vehicle outdoors and limit charging to 80% to avoid a fire hazard. …”
NHTSA complaint #11724420, filed 2026-032022: “We are currently under NHTSA Recall ID: 26V073 and Mercedes-Benz has not given us a reasonable timeline with which they intend to remedy the recall. We are currently unable to drive the car safely and unable to park the car safely without the risk of fire. To not have any answers as to when this recall will be remedied is unacceptable.”
NHTSA complaint #11728360, filed 2026-032023: “I was informed of this recall fire risk. And I contacted Mercedes dealership where I got the car. And they informed me that the battery is not available at this time. And to park the vehicle outside. I can’t do this because my charging port is located inside my garage. This is not a safe and the dealership won’t do anything about it.”
