“Safety was at risk when the gears switched to neutral while I was driving in car with my children. A recall was completed when bought car was not aware of fuel pumps recall issue. Says completed repair but the car is still having issues and was sold to me without telling me about the recall. First appeared about a week ago. Making a ticking noise, losing power when accelerating.”
NHTSA complaint #11633770, filed 2025-01“I have experienced 4 incidents of the car accelerating on its own. I have taken it to the dealership twice and they are unable to reproduce the problem. Problems began occurring in 2025 and occurred again this past week (August 20246). In the most recent incident I was accelerating on an on ramp . The car suddenly took hold and continued to speed up despite my foot not being on the gas. I had to drive the car to safety with my foot on the break. The moment I took my foot off the break it would speed up. The floor mat was not touching the gas in all of the instances of this occurring. …”

My vehicle consumes excessive fuel, the vehicle quicks back upon acceleration. This causes a great concern as I used my vehicle for work. I attempted to have the dealer resolve this and I was told that there was nothing they could do. However, this faulty performance might cause a traffic accident and I could also involve the life of myself or another individual in the vicinity of my vehicle. The vehicle also has a late start which is also a problem while driving. …”

Additionally, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly and crashed into another vehicle that was unoccupied and parked on the left side of the road. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained bruises and soreness around the left elbow, but did not seek medical assistance. A police report was filed. …”
