“Power window regulators in my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis ls have continued to fail due to design faults. I have talked with several ford technicians who have claimed that this is a major defect in the Grand Marquis series. The driver window, front passenger window, and driver side rear passenger window regulators have all failed. The wire that coils allowing the window to go up and down is almost destroyed. Window will not work with this defect and causes the window to slide down during operation.”
NHTSA complaint #10000558, filed 2003-01, 88,000 miles“Consumer felt that his vehicle's rear suspension should be recalled because the newer models have better rear suspensions. When the wind blew, or the road was uneven especially in the mountains, it was very difficult to keep the vehicle straight, the problem only occurred at highway speeds. The dealer refused to upgrade the consumer's vehicle even though the consumer requested to pay. …”
NHTSA complaint #10059468, filed 2004-02“Consumer had problems with the windows on driver side mechanism, windows won't work properly. Windows neither went up nor down at halfway point. Consumer added that dealer has hundreds of such failures.”
NHTSA complaint #10063196, filed 2004-04“While vehicle was parked and consumer was lowering the window, the window mechanism broke. This caused window to fail to be lowered or raised on driver's side.”
NHTSA complaint #889317, filed 2001-05“Reporting a hazy cover in windshield that caused severe visibility problem. Every product used could not remove it. Dealer/manufacturer were not notified at this time.”
