“I was turning into my drive way and the car all of a certain accelerated to a speed up and I immediately jump on to the brake to stop the car and it crashed into the back fence . I got out the car to check and see if the pedal had the floor mat on it and their was nothing on it.”

NHTSA complaint #10511846, filed 2013-05, 163,284 miles

“Cruise control moves gas pedal rapidly down and back up at a rate of 1 to 2 occilations per second, at times car can be felt to jerk back and forth. Dealer has made many attempts to correct the issue under warrenty but now is being told that ford will no longer pay for repairs. I feel this may be a safety issue as I do not know when the car may accelerate out of controll.”

NHTSA complaint #10038929, filed 2003-09, 32,700 miles

NHTSA complaint #10283920, filed 2009-09, 60,000 miles

“Tl - the vehicle was a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. While driving the gas pedal became stuck. The vehicle then side swiped two other vehicles. The vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The passenger side front was damaged. The air bags did not deploy. The failure mileage was 25,000. The passenger and driver sustained injuries. The vehicle was towed. Pictures were taken ,and a police report was filed.”

NHTSA complaint #10187586, filed 2007-04, 25,000 miles

“Car would not idle after starting. Thank god it happened in driveway. Towed to dealer, and dealer replaced iac valve, and cleaned fuel system. Car had 37974 miles on it. Purchased used on 07/03/03, was certified as used car, 33750 miles. Noticed intermittent turn signal flashing when purchased. Changed bulbs, no improvement. Shouldn't a safety recall be issued instead of a TSB on the idle problem?”
