2001: “This is my second Villager, the first was a 1993 and now own a 2001. The base structure where the rack and pinion gets bolted-in cracks, while the alignment and whole rack & pinion has shifted. The crack occurred when I was turning onto a ramp to merge onto the freeway.”

First , the alarm is going off along with the horn at random .second ,the dashboard lights do not work . I have to use a flashlight at nighr to see what speed I am going .third , I am driving with no horn . And finally ,the ignition key does not lock or unlock the driver door. .”
NHTSA complaint #10749753, filed 2015-08, 148,000 miles1995: “I have a 1995 Mercury Villager. On 6/6/08 I heard a noise and saw and puff of smoke. I went to check it and saw nothing. I drove it home and the next morning the passenger seat and the passenger door were burned up. The entire inside was covered in smoke. The car would not start, and the mechanic said that it was would be too expensive to repair considering it's age and condition.”
