“While driving at various speeds the consumer would hear a loud noise coming from the brakes. When brake pedal was depressed it would go to the floor and there would be extended stopping distance. Different brake components have been replaced several times but the brakes continue to fail. The windshield molding flapped while driving. The driver's front door rattled while driving. The dealer lubed the window tracks.”
NHTSA complaint #10043928, filed 2003-11, 42,000 miles“When the gas pedal was pressed, there was a delay in acceleration. The consumer had to pump the gas pedal to get the vehicle to move. The dealer stated new injectors were needed. . Also the blower motor failed.”
NHTSA complaint #10012465, filed 2003-03, 55,015 miles“The windshield wipers turn on whenever they feel like it. Sometimes they don't come on at all. There is no predicting when they will work or not work...it's at random. I reported this to the dealer. They said they contacted ford and there is no fix for this problem. It is definately a safety concern to have wipers come on unexpectedly or not come on when needed.”
NHTSA complaint #712266, filed 1999-09“Consumer states while driving at about 60 MPH front driver's side window popped out and broke into little pieces also, rear passenger's side front window popped out while driving and broke into little pieces. Consumer feels this is a safety issue because it could cause a loss of control on a busy street or highway.”
