“I purchased my car new from modesto Mitsubishi. At the time it was noted that the sunfroof molding was not installed correctly and was to be replaced. I started having problems with overheating, electrical malfuntions, mirrors, clock, casette door defect, also sunroof opened only while getting on highway. I took vehicle to dealer, and ended up having to rent a car for about 3 1/2 weeks while they replaced warped head. When I picked up my car, the sunroof molding still not replaced, the car stereo I was told they had to order, the sunroof I was told was ok. …”

NHTSA complaint #10068441, filed 2004-05, 28,776 miles

“Washer fluid hose failed (broke) at hood attachment point, making windshield washers inoperative. Unable to clean window during inclement winter weather conditions (salt, sand), causing reduced visibility until can be manually cleaned after stopping. Possible cause incorrect/poor routing of hose in and through body paneling, causing excessive wear and/or strain on hose when hood opened, leading to premature failure of hose.”

NHTSA complaint #10050707, filed 2003-12, 69,500 miles

“Both windows developed cracks on the sides without the windows being hit or t being involved in an accident. Vehicle was taken to a dealership, who indicated that there wa s a technical bulletin on this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10065233, filed 2004-03, 53,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the turn signal and headlights failed. The contact stated that the high beam failed to operate correctly whether the vehicle was turned or not. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 99V305001 (Exterior Lighting, Visibility). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11478198, filed 2022-08, 140,000 miles

“When the front doors are opened then closed, a signifigant amount of water is on the window. I believe water is being retained within the door. In cold weather, the windows froze in the closed position. After setting in the sun, the windows functioned normally, but water was evident on them after being opened. The doors froze again the next day. After a carwash or rain, the dry windows can be actuated, and are then very wet. I am concerned about the internal window components rusting.”
