“I bought my 2003 Eclipse gt in march of 2004. At approximately 30,000 miles two bulges suddenlyappeared on left side front and rear tires (one bulge on each). When the car was taken to the goodyear retailer I was told it was the result of running over pot holes. However, the position of the bulges doesn't suggest so. The tires are goodyear rsas which came stock on the car. The tire size is p215/vr17.”

NHTSA complaint #10129274, filed 2005-07, 30,400 miles

“Two out of four tires had bulges coming out of the sidewalls after less than 14,000 miles. Took them to goodyear and they blamed it on me. They said the plys delaminated because I was running into too many potholes (which I wasn't). I've never had a tire do this before. I think the rsa's are an accident waiting to happen and a serious investigation needs to be initiated on these tires, especially the low-profile version. My tire size is p215/50vr17 , and came stock on my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse gts.”

NHTSA complaint #10051069, filed 2003-12, 14,000 miles

“I have a mitisubishi Eclipse 2003 100000 miles ( majority highway). In the spring of 08-the vehicle was making noise when accelerating, the vehicle was changing gears hard and was advise it was the transmission/motor mounds. The problem occurred intermittently while driving as much as 40mph. Took it back to mitisubishi dealer for service/diagnosis-told possible eventually trans, timing belt and possibly radiator, which was one of another consumers resolve. Well, they flush the radiator and it resolve the problem of driving but not the noise. …”

NHTSA complaint #10277592, filed 2009-07, 100,000 miles

“While driving 65 MPH front passenger's side tire exploded. As a result, vehicle went into a spin and crashed into a guard rail. The consumer stated that the vehicle is no longer in his possession.”

NHTSA complaint #10101765, filed 2005-01, 5,004 miles

“I bought new tires for my daughter last fall and she has been away at college and her car has not been driven much at all. When she came home from school we noticed 2 huge buldges and another buldge in both her front tires. They are not worn at all but we were told not to drive on them cause they could blow at anytime. They are bridgestone 250/r17.”
