Example complaints

Air bags: “Takata recall.vehicle was in motion I had made a left turn and struck a car in the intersection in the side. My head hit the steering wheel. I was transferred to a trauma unit for three days with a severe concussion and a deep cut from my scalp to my eyebrow. My air bag didn't deploy.”

NHTSA complaint #10811328, filed 2015-12, 2,200 miles

Brakes: “My vehicle's engine is shaking on the arms, lights going off esp. During wet weather, and corrosion is extreme. My brakes cut on and off - this has been happening since I purchased the car in june, 2017.”

NHTSA complaint #11022287, filed 2017-09, 89,000 miles

Engine: “Impossible to reach manufacturer's advertised fuel mileage. No matter the weather, tire pressure, power to accessories, nothing. Absolutely impossible. I bought the car because of the mileage advertised by Mitsubishi, and I rarely get over 30mpg in mixed driving. Vehicle always has synthetic oil changed regularly, and is well maintained. Was advertised as 39mpg city and 41 highway.”

NHTSA complaint #10929601, filed 2016-12, 44,000 miles

Electrical system: “The radio will randomly completely lose all power during cold weather while driving. It shuts down after about ten minutes of driving and stays off for about three to five minutes before powering back up. It only happens in cold weather and after the first few minutes. Since my car is still under warranty, I took it to the dealer a few months after I purchased the vehicle. They told me they could not recreate the problem at that time and that I should leave my car with them. …”
