“Sometimes driving, I hear light crackling noise comes and goes. For 9 months checkup, I mentioned it to dealer. He said they test drove it and everything was fine. On sat evening, 8-25, the front rt side of rim cracked & came out bouncing off freeway! Scary & dangerous! We just let the car slide and scrape on three wheels off the next exit. I had spare tire put on & slowly got the car back home, in shock! Monday I had car towed to nearest dealer & they weren't able to fix my car because of the wheels. …”
NHTSA complaint #10205643, filed 2007-10, 9,900 miles“Tire size 265/35ZR19 driving down highway at 55 mph when tire blew out. I was able to lucklily get the shoulder and it looked like my tire was cut open with a can opener on the sidewall. The tpms sensor was working fine and they were never plugged and had plenty of tread. I sent pictures of the damage to continental that just replies they’re not warranted. If you google continental blow outs you will see tires and even recalls that look just like mine. I definitely could of been killed or killed someone else if the blowout occurred on a busy highway because I lost control”
NHTSA complaint #11549900, filed 2023-10“I bought a 2006 350Z in 2007 and have replaced brakes and rotors once already and not 6 months later had to get the rotors resurfaced again. In addition to this problem I have replaced all 4 tires twice. The front and rear were way out of alignment as well. Also, the electrical component that moves the driver seat forward and back is sticking, not always allowing the seat to move.”
NHTSA complaint #10280517, filed 2009-08“I am the owner of a 2006 Nissan 350Z coupe. My car came stock with bridgestone potenza re050a tires, which have a treadwear rating of 140. These stock tires lasted 22,000 miles, which is in line with my expectations. I replaced them with the higher treadwear re-11 tires, which have a treadwear rating of 180. These tires have completely worn out after only 5,500 miles. I feel bridgestone has a faulty rubber mixture or else there is fraud in their treadwear methodology. I have not changed my driving habits or ever gone racing in any manner with these new tires. …”
