NHTSA complaint #10960171, filed 2017-03, 78,000 miles“The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that water was leaking from the bottom of the front driver’s and passenger side doors. Additionally, the seat belt warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under warranty. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.”

The contact stated the owner's manual displayed a message informing him of a chime alert that would sound whenever the driver seat belt was not securely fastened. With the seat belt unfastened, the contact noticed that the chime alert did not sound. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the vehicle was not equipped with a chime system, contrary to what the owner's manual stated. The failure and current mileage was 700. …”
