While driving approximately 45 MPH, the contact's vehicle crashed into a second vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained significant damage to the front end. The contact indicated that the seat belt malfunctioned and did not secure the driver during the incident. The driver suffered neck, back, and chest injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 144,000.”

The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt shoulder restraint did not restraint him during the crash. His breast bone was fractured by the steering column and he was hospitalized for 24 hours. A police report was filed. The vehicle was damaged on the right front bumper, headlights, grill and there was a dent in the hood. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 34,574 and the current mileage was 34,579. Updated 05/03/11”
