“Bci malfunction message displayed on the dash along with other indicators. Vehicle wouldn't start. Service department suggested to continue to press the brake and push start button while I waited for road side assistance tow. After about 15 min the vehicle started. Minutes later the vehicle was on but would not move out of park. Continued to attempt while waiting for tow again and it eventually went out of park. The next day it would not start again and eventually did. Dropped off at dealer for service. Picked up that afternoon and was told they replaced the brake switch. …”

“Bought this vehicle in 12/23. Problems with battery drainage, electrical problems, vehicle won't start and then it will. Bought a new battery in 2/25 same problems happening. This is a defect in this vehicle. Steering failure. System won't connect to my phone. Had alternator checked battery check consistently so many times. There should be a recall on this truck. I have been stranded so many times. I consistently pay my payments on time and never been late. I didnt expect to run into these problems with this vehicle. This is not good for nobody to go through with this unreliable vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11767183, filed 2026-09

The contact stated that while his wife was driving at approximately 50 MPH, all four brakes engaged independently, and the rear brake lights failed to illuminate. The ABS, Lane Assist, Traction Control, Collision, Blind Spot, and BC1 warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module and Brake Control Actuator required replacement. …”

NHTSA complaint #11771047, filed 2026-10, 137,479 miles

“My 2019 Nissan suddenly lost braking ability while driving. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and the front passenger-side wheel was covered in brake fluid. A mechanic found a cut in the brake hose, which likely caused the fluid leak and brake failure. Cause: UNKNOWN. It may have been mechanical failure, wear, or external damage. Further investigation is needed to determine the exact cause.”

NHTSA complaint #11767399, filed 2026-09

“The vehicle displays a BCI malfunction, AEB braking warning, and traction control indicator light is on. Vehicle does not recognize that the brake pedal is being depressed when trying to start the car. Pushing the start button only cycles the ignition through the on and acc options. Rear suspension suddenly low.”
