Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Twice on the highway if had issues where the car accelerated on its own and a few times it's seem to lose power and than compensate and completely launch leading to a quick jerking motion. I'm afraid that it could completely stop on the highway or accelerate into something. Other than that there's no issues but this is concerning since I'm always giving family member rides including a pregnant wife so it needs to be looked into in my opinion it could be a huge disaster if it happens to an inexperienced driver. *also I'm not sure of the exact date of when this happened. …”

NHTSA complaint #11403040, filed 2021-03, 74,000 miles

“Upon pushing the accelerator pedal, the car does not accelerate at all. I will push the accelerator all the way down to the floor and nothing will happen. I have to hit the pedal 2-4 times to get the car to accelerate. This occurs after being stopped at a stop light or intersection. The same has just happened with my wife's 2018 Nissan rogue. She was at an intersection. My car this has been happening on and off for 2 months. My wife's car, her first incident happened today. Mine happened 2x today. We both purchased are cars from the same Nissan dealership in clinton, nc.”

NHTSA complaint #11351468, filed 2020-08, 78,000 miles

“Cruise control drops out while engaged under all road/weather conditions. Dashboard indication front radar unavailable due to obstruction seems well documented online for several other Nissan vehicles. System will reset itself after several minutes, but also drops out and is non-functional intermitently, essentially making the tracking cruise control inoperable.”

NHTSA complaint #11182595, filed 2019-02, 30,000 miles

“For the past 5 months the acceleration will not work intermittently. I have almost gotten into two accidents on the interstate and in the city. I’ve taken the vehicle to the dealership twice and Firestone auto care twice they cannot replicate the issue it is a hazard to drive with the car behaving this way.”

NHTSA complaint #11493714, filed 2022-11

“Since I got the car in 2018 the car does a jutter I went to a mechanic and they hooked it up to the computer and did a diagnostic and that's what it's called a judder the car keeps stuttering when it hits past 23 mph. As the years went on it has gotten worse and worse and Nissan will not cover it even though they're at fault for it I don't know what to do because certain mechanics are charging $3,500 and more”
