“Approaching a parking lot gate slowly with my foot gently on the brake. Engine suddenly surged to full power. I'm a 250 lb. Male and applied brakes with both feet and couldn't stop vehicle. Hit the gate arm causing little damage (inconsequential). Finally stopped and engine returned to idle when I managed to shift to neutral.”
