“I experienced intermittent power system failures shortly after purchasing a new 2016 Murano on 12/28/16. I first noticed the problem on 1/4/17 when I was making a right turn onto a two-way road. The power system failed immediately after entering the turn and the steering wheel began to pull hard against the direction of the turn. This caused my vehicle to overshoot the turn and I was driving in the lane of opposing traffic pulling hard on the wheel to recover. Then suddenly the power returned and my vehicle veered hard to the right in the original direction of the turn. …”
NHTSA complaint #10949621, filed 2017-02, 240 miles“The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while making a right turn from a complete stop, the vehicle lost motive power and the steering wheel became difficult to steer. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the road. No further information was available. The vehicle was then towed to the residence. The vehicle was later restarted and driven to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.”
