“I have a very dear friend who was killed in a rollover accident. According to the police report, he was ejected from his vehicle due to a faulty door latch as well as his seltbelt failed. He was driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. Please let me know if these problems have ever been reported before. Thank you. Complainat saw the seatbelt on the driver 15 minutes prior to the crash. Complainat was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Cw”
NHTSA complaint #10039612, filed 2003-09“While driving at 55 MPH consumer drove over a dip. This caused consumer to lose control of the vehicle and run off the road. However, consumer was able to regain control of the vehicle. When attempting to get the vehicle back on the road the two front tires hit the pavement, causing the vehicle to roll over three times. Driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Consumer?s mother stated that, driver's side door opened, and driver's side seat belt disconnected, which caused the driver to be thrown out of the vehicle. …”
