NHTSA complaint #10983153, filed 2017-05, 153,600 miles“I am having multiple issues with my 1998 Nissan Pathfinder due to corrosion. The most recent incident was while I was driving my muffler fell off. I took it to a shop and when they raised the vehicle, the entire exhaust system had corrosion and holes from it. This was followed by last years strut housing corrosion which broke off the strut from the frame of the vehicle while I was driving. I lost brakes and had to step on pedal all the way, and then the vehicle gradually came to a stop. The recall notice came after the incident. …”
NHTSA complaint #10443291, filed 2012-01, 185,000 miles“Nissan Pathfinder recall 07v-435 r0705 fuel filler tube and fuel leakage. In january while driving from colorado through wyoming our car started puttering and died on busy route 80 in coopers cove outside of laramie, wy at 9:30 pm in a major snow storm. Roads were covered in rock salt and we were lucky to pull over to shoulder where we remained for 2 hours. My 2 daughters were there, one of whom had no coat as we did not expect to be heading north. Temperature was -27. We were pretrified and I kept the light on in car so trucks could see us. …”
NHTSA complaint #10268432, filed 2009-05, 169,444 miles“I recently received a recall on my Nissan for the fuel filler tube. I had this replaced in sept. I called Nissan and they said because I didn't have it fixed at a Nissan dealer that I have to bring it to the dealer to make sure it was done properly. The woman said I wouldn't be reimbursed for that, which I think is totally wrong. I already spent money on having it repaired.”
NHTSA complaint #10216834, filed 2008-02“I filled up my vehicle with gas and when I was driving I could smell gas somewhere - so I only filled it half full after that. I went to bergstrom of oshkosh, wisconsin to get a different recall repaired (I think it was about a year ago) having to do with the steering. They kept my vehicle for 4 months and finally fixed it. They said that I also had a recall on the gas neck of the vehicle and they said they didn't have the parts to fix it but that they would call me. It's been over a year now and they still have not called me to get it fixed. I can only fill my tank only half way. …”
