NHTSA complaint #11297144, filed 2020-01, 125,000 miles

“The vehicle has faulty fuel gauge sensor which seems to be a very very common problem and I contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they said that I must pay that out of pocket. I researched online and found out that not only does the Pathfinder have the problem but so does the xtera. Nissan is very well aware of the problem and so they should fix it.”

NHTSA complaint #10550143, filed 2013-10, 150,000 miles

“My wife was driving to a road, for charity, while getting on the highway, the car would not go forward, the more you gave it gas the car took off like a rocket. I took the car out for a test ride, the same thing happen,at the stop sign the car would raveup.and take off like a .rocket. Took it to the dealership. The dealership told me it is going to cost a lot to fit this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10551819, filed 2013-11, 56,800 miles

“The gas gauge on my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder doesn't work properly. This problem has been recalled on several other year models, but they will not fix my 2005. I have run out of gas 3 times, once with my grandmother, my 2 yr. Old daughter and my 2 month old daughter. I cannot afford to fix this problem. The brakes have also gone out twice on this vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10327927, filed 2010-04, 60,000 miles

“The check engine soon light came on. I checked with obd ii and it was the fuel sensor. I checked online and found many others with the same problem. With so many failures it seems apparent it is the result of a faulty part and a recall should be issued. It causes the gas gauge to work erratically. Nissan is charging over $500 to fix this mess to the customer.”
