“The first incident, occurring in the summer of 2014, caused my 2007 Nissan Quest to stall/shut off and nothing worked - it lost all steering, power, acceleration, braking, etc. It just died, going approximately 15mph while veering right to turn into a shopping center. This same incident occurred about a month later, while traveling approximately 25mph (posted speed limit) going uphill at night. Van just died and I was stranded on the road - lucky enough to get far enough near a private driveway not to get hit by a car, an to call for help. …”
NHTSA complaint #10670340, filed 2015-01, 80,000 miles“My wife was driving the car with kids in back, at traffic signal she stopped at left lane turn left. When left green signal was given, she released brakes and couldn't move as intended. She described to me that engine was running and as if all brakes were engaged. She made slowly left turn dragging car and stopped at right side of the road and called me asking that she is unable to move the car and engine is still running. She also informed that car is at safe area of road and could able to get out and walk to kids activity school. …”
NHTSA complaint #10605022, filed 2014-06, 77,686 miles“I ran out of gas on two separate occasions. Both times I thought I had plenty of gas due to what the gauge said. The first time, I had my 2 kids with me and it ran out as I was going around an unfamiliar curve in the interstate. The van became very hard to steer. Lucky for me I was in a lane next to a shoulder so I was able to fight it off of the road. It was very hard to stop at that point. The second time, I had 7 people in the car including my 2 kids and 4 of their young friends. This time it ran out just as I came to a curve on a road where people tend to speed. …”
NHTSA complaint #10824571, filed 2016-02, 130,000 miles“Took my 2007 Nissan Quest in to the Nissan dealership for a rattle, vibration and pulsing out of the front end. Service writer tells me it's a timing chain (not belt) that needs to be replaced. I asked him if that was the noise I heard (I didn't think that was the issue) and I was told they weren't sure and that probably wasn't the noise I was hearing. I left the dealership only to have the vibrations worse, noise more pronounced and the thought of a 2000.00 bill on the horizon for a timing chain. The vehicle seems to push and constantly pull to the left. …”
NHTSA complaint #10554703, filed 2013-12, 83,000 miles“I bought my 2007 Nissan Quest in april 2008 with only 26 miles on it. I noticed within a couple months that when going over 30 miles an hour the brakes did not engage right away and I had to pump them once or twice to get them to work much like my 20 year old car when I was a teen. In sept 08 I was in an accident when driving 35 miles an hour with a good 5-6 car lengths away when the car in front of me suddenly stopped and I could not stop. There was not enough time to pump the brakes and when I pushed hard on the brake it went mush all the way to the floor. …”
