“My backup camera was intermittent and then stopped working. Had extended warranty and got backup camera replaced. Worked for 2 weeks than was intermittent again. Brought back into dealership and was told that it was the wiring harness inside the back tailgate that was the issue. In order to fix the whole back tailgate of my 2021 Rogue SV AWD had to be replaced. Camera only works 2% of the time. Nissan won't take care of the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11612116, filed 2024-09“On 7/23/21, I leased a 2021 Nissan Rogue SV AWD at Nissan of Streetsboro, Ohio. I leased the vehicle because I felt the newly designed Rogue looks good and drives smoothly. Unfortunately, during a recent long-distance trip from Ohio to Florida between 7/24 and 8/3 on interstate multi-lane highway I-77 and I-95 for a total of 2,500 miles, I uncovered a serious safety defect that is not possible to spot during the local test drive and it prompted me to make this report. …”
NHTSA complaint #11434232, filed 2021-09“I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue and have had numerous problems with it since the purchase. My current problem is that the back hatch/trunk is leaking when it rains, water is coming through. The back hatch/trunk will also open and not stay open, it begins to automatically close unless you press the button so it will not close on you. The warning lights have also began coming on again stating that driving assistance is not available. I also lose power to the display screen on the inside and it goes dark. The nissan place where I live is aware and I have an appointment on Tuesday of this month. …”
NHTSA complaint #11589049, filed 2024-05“The backup camera stopped working. Vehicle taken to Buckeye Nissan in Ohio and rear hatch cover removed and a significant amount of water discovered in the rear hatch exposing the camera to this water has short circuited the camera disabling it. Tech checked the wire leading to the camera and reports that it has no power. Only option from 2 Nissan dealers is to replace the entire rear hatch at a cost of over $5000. …”
