“My car overheated, then I took it to a mechanic and the entire engine was blown and I had to pay $1200.00 to fix it and come to find out, there was a recall on my make and model and year on the water pump which would have caused my car to overheat and thus not having to have my engine blown. When I called to find out about the recall Nissan informed that my vehicle was not one of those included but it matched the year, make and model???? I want answers...”

NHTSA complaint #10524271, filed 2013-07, 89,000 miles

“I purchased my 2005 Nissan Sentra from a private seller in 2007 with the total mileage of 9,100. After six months of driving the service light came on and I took it to my mechanic whom I have used for all my automobiles. I was told the seal on the vapor hose was loose and he could tighten it, but it would only be a temporary fix. The cost to repair the seal was out of my price range. Since 2007 the service light on my dash would light up intermittently whether the vehicle was in motion or stationary. I would have to wait for the light to switch off before I could go for an inspection sticker. …”

NHTSA complaint #11151260, filed 2018-11, 10,200 miles

“My daughter was driving down the freeway and slowed down going so me ral road tracks and the. Car stalled, it scared her a lot being she was on the freeway, she was abel to pull over half scared to death because the steering wheel got stiff not knowing the car had stalled and as you know when a car stalles and your ignition is on on all your warning lights cycle in the middle of a busy freeway, she was very fortunate she did not have a accident, this happened all of a sudden, had never done it before, my son took it to get it checked at a parts store and said it had a bad battery so he…”

NHTSA complaint #10957947, filed 2017-03, 76,000 miles

“There is a recall on 2005 Nissan Sentra's with the vapor return hose and I took my car to hove Nissan dealer in bourbonnais il and they told me that there was no recall on my car but when I look it up on the internet it is telling me that there is a recall on 2005 Nissan Sentra with the same problem that I am having with mine I also took my car to be diagnosed at the dealership and they told me the same thing that my vapor hose is in need of repair. …”

NHTSA complaint #10231377, filed 2008-06, 47,000 miles

“The service engine light comes before starting vehicle and then throttle pedal has no effect. Starts fine runs smooth but will not accelerate. I have to disconnect positive battery post for about 5 minutes and then reinstall battery cable. So far will work fine for a while. The service engine light comes more frequent now but throttle pedal will work some times. I am worried that this will start happening when driving down the highway and stall the car. We bought the car with 17000 miles and now has 107000 miles on it. I checked for recalls but none yet.”
