“As I was driving or turning, car would hesitate, speed would drop even though foot still on accelerator. Turns out had moisture in driver's brake light which caused car switch to brake thereby causing jerking hesitation. Dangerous because even though car slowed down, brake lights not lit, dangerous to drivers behind me. Light replaced due to seal allowing moisture in.”

NHTSA complaint #11219403, filed 2019-06, 43,493 miles

“My gas/acceleration decreases while driving on bust highways. I was told by a service tech a douglas Nissan, where I purchased my vehicle brand new september 2014, that they have had 'several' customers complain of the same problem and that what they have found it to be is a faulty back tail light and computer reading glitch, that they have found moisture build up due to condensation (when the lights are on) in a back tail light causes the car to 'think' it is in reverse thus causing the 'skid' icon to appear on the panel and which is causing the car to decelerate, this has happened to me on…”

NHTSA complaint #10852697, filed 2016-03, 44,000 miles

“Condensation inside drivers side taillight. This caused brake lights to be on continuously when headlights were on. It also greatly reduced throttle response. Vehicle never had any incident that would have caused condensation, no visible crack. Dealer replaced light assembly and said they have seen a few of these.”

NHTSA complaint #11015667, filed 2017-08, 60,200 miles
