“My passenger door has been catching on something as it opens. The black plastic piece that stretches out as you open the door is visibly scratched, as if it is catching on metal in the door. The window also has been getting stuck and would not roll down all the way. This weekend the door was hard to open, and when I opened the door, the window got off track. My boyfriend and I tried to see if we could move it, but did not want to mess it up any more than it already was. He went to roll it down just a little, and the whole window shattered. …”
NHTSA complaint #11141888, filed 2018-10, 16,700 miles“Hood latch allowed hood to fly open at 30 mph, causing $3100 worth of damage to car, Potentially causing serious other vehicular/occupant injuries. Apparently the latch was inadvertently engaged, but the secondary latch did not hold and let the hood fly open. This incident happened 8/2023 but was not reported to Nissan and while estimate was obtained, repairs were not made.”
NHTSA complaint #11626700, filed 2024-11“The contact rented a 2017 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 40-46 MPH, the vehicle jerked, shook and swerved. As a result, the driver crashed into a cone. There were no warning lights illuminated. The manual side view mirrors were stuck and failed to move. The roof of vehicle had an extreme amount of dirt. There were no reported injuries. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact mentioned the rental company informed her the repairs would be at her own expense due to not having adequate insurance. …”
