2023: “The rear backup camera is still flaky and often will stop working or have a large and noticeable lag when backing up. This has not been fixed by the recent 3.6.4 software update as promised. It is available for inspection. If I am already in the middle of backing up and the camera goes out, I may hit someone that comes behind me quickly. No No None”
NHTSA complaint #11672872, filed 2025-072022: “My Polestar 2 was updated to software version 3.6.4 to address an issue with the rear view camera being unavailable when moving in reverse. This was supposed to solve a Safety Recall Notice, but today was the third time since the software update was applied that I received the Camera Unavailable error. This is in response to NHTSA RECALL 25V-280.”
NHTSA complaint #11670890, filed 2025-072024: “Intermittent issue where the rear view backup camera does not appear on screen. I receive a message of camera temporarily unavailable. Even when shifting to another gear then back to Reverse, the camera will still not work and the same message will appear. I have the latest software update that was supposed to address this already-recalled issue (verison 3.6.4).”
