“The motor for the drivers side passenger window went out. It's been going bad for a while and now it finally quit for good. At 3 years old I don't think I should have to replace this so soon. And the fan for the air conditioner (A/C) will run on its own without the car even running, can't get it to stop unless you take the fuse out.”

NHTSA complaint #10047672, filed 2003-11, 55,800 miles

“The stereo/clock display fades to be extremely dim and unreadable. This occurred at 28000 mi, which resulted in my dealer replacing the stereo. It has again occurred at 54000 mi.”

NHTSA complaint #10052658, filed 2004-01, 55,000 miles

“Numerous issues 1. Heater core went out around 60,000 miles. 2. Dexcool gelled and caused the above. 3. Stereo has malfunctioned since 36,000 miles. 4. Tie rod end wore out around 30,000 miles-took to dealership a couple of times and they couldn't determine cause of noise and rattling . I took it to a tire company/service center and they fixed the problem. 5. Numerous interior floodings-water comes in at the firewall and floods the interior carpet-has mold, and deterioration from it. 6. Headlamps are yellow and nontransparent-the lights are not working properly because it can't shine through. …”

NHTSA complaint #10120170, filed 2005-05, 30,000 miles

“Problem with bouncing front end originally. Had wheels balanced, didn't fix problem. Then hard to turn as if power steering wasn't working and also a clunking noise when turning the steering wheel. First they replaced a tie rod assembly, but this did not correct the hard steering problem. Had to leave the vehicle at the dealer for more than a week for them to get parts to fix the rack and pinion steering. Also had a problem with water inside my heater/AC causing an accumulation of water and malfunctioning of the fan and causing water on the passenger side floor. …”

NHTSA complaint #10047392, filed 2003-11, 25,300 miles

“I was driving my daughter and son to the store after school. I smelled something burning but didn't think anything off it. I didn't see the smoke but had smelled the burning smell before. Anyway not five minutes of being in the store ,I was at the check out lane wondering what was on fire. To my surprise it was my car. Car hood completely engulfed in flames. A guy outside it started smoking and flamed up not a minute after we got out. Well a month after my car was destroyed I started getting recall notifications. …”
