Example complaints

Air bags: “My passenger occupant detector is faulty and unable to recognize if someone is sitting in that seat, therefore the airbags will not deploy in case of an accident. There has been already a recall on this item for my car, but obviously my car was is affected and my VIN isn’t included. So I think it’s needs to be reassessed”

NHTSA complaint #11539063, filed 2023-08

Engine: “Coolant pipe burst or started a sudden leak and lost all the coolant while driving. I had to have the vehicle towed and repaired which costed me $2750. Porsche is aware of the problem but does not have a solution, until someone is killed when the vehicle stalls while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11630066, filed 2024-12

Transmission and drivetrain: “There was a vibration on the car every time I accelerated from a stop, seems to always happen between 27mph to around 30mph. It was vibrating more or less depending on the acceleration type, fast acceleration will shake a little more. The vibration was most noticeable when the steering wheel was turned fully while slowly pulling out of or backing into a parking spot. I took it to the dealer for evaluation. After a quick fifteen minutes they determined it was a transfer case issue. I was told that this is a common issue for Porsche Macan 2015. I was surprised that no recall was issued.”

NHTSA complaint #11270642, filed 2019-10, 66,000 miles

Fuel system: “The contact owns a 2015 Porsche Macan. The contact stated that there was a fuel leak inside the cabin underneath the rear passenger’s seat, which caused a strong gasoline odor throughout the vehicle. The vehicle became inoperable. The contact observed a cracked filter flange underneath the seat, which resulted in a pooling of raw fuel. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V077000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure reoccurred. …”
