“The compressor that operates the air suspension is bad. Upon a little research this seems to be problem with a lot of Ram trucks. Especially in cold weather climates. This happened while I wasn't driving it.”

NHTSA complaint #11181810, filed 2019-02, 48,000 miles

“Air suspension compressor failed with truck in motion and the vehicle swerved. Vehicle now sits and drives lopsided. Truck had 59,573 miles when this happened. The internet is full of Ram trucks air suspension failing in cold weather regions over and over and over again. The air suspension is not covered under the power train warranty. It doesn't do any good to replace the failed oem components because they just fail in a year or two again. The safest fix is to remove the air suspension system and replace it with shocks and springs.”

The ABS, traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), and brake warning lights were illuminated. The Service Traction Control and Service Trailer Brake System messages were displayed. …”

“The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving downhill 50-55 MPH and towing a boat, the brake pedal became hard. The brake pedal was hard to depress. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who used a code scanner and determined that the failure was related to the ABS module. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. …”
