“Code for right rear wheel speed sensor came on. Resulting in no abs, traction control, 4x4,or parking sensors. I bought new part from dealer had mechanic change it. Reflash abs and still on. Went off briefly for 5 seconds came back on. I've realized it's it's common problem. Resulting in the abs module needing replaced. But it's only a temporary fix.”

NHTSA complaint #11504967, filed 2023-02

“The ABS/HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit) failed again. This will be the 3rd HCU installed in my vehicle. The previous repair was completed 10 days ago. I have an open case with Stellantis, since the parts are on extreme backorder (3+ Months). My safety is at risk, because when this component fails, it directly impacts the ABS Brakes, Traction Control, Cruise Control, Parking Assistance, etc. The dealer has confirmed the issue. I am unsure what diagnostics the dealer has performed on the failed part. …”

NHTSA complaint #11514603, filed 2023-03

“Following a Uconnect update in March 2023 the vehicle exhibited the following errors: rear parking sensors failed, ABS brake failure, cruise control failure. ABS module was replaced 5/5/23 at cost to me of $529.86 by RAM dealer. Per dealer, ABS system will not function as ABS motor (HCU) must also be replaced and is not available pending engineering review in late August. Vehicle is like new with 23,000 miles on it. The vehicle is no longer operating as designed by Dodge RAM causing risk to me and others. …”

NHTSA complaint #11522141, filed 2023-05

“My 2018 Ram 2500 has 85,000 miles currently. At about 80,000 miles I got the ABS and Traction control warning lights along with dash messages to check the ABS amd electronic braking systems. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and thus checked the systems myself with a scan tool and other test equipment. I found that the ABS module has an internal electrical failure resulting in power not being supplied to the ABS pump/electric motor. I have verified that the pump works and has about a 48ohm resistance. If supplied with 12v and ground to the motor it will come on. …”

NHTSA complaint #11602034, filed 2024-07

“The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the infotainment system ceased randomly without warning. The back-up camera was inoperable. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V398000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the Vin was not included. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 23,242.”
