Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While driving on freeway power steering went out. Extremely difficult to control car. I found that after the car was turned off, the steering works again. This happens all of the time and is very scary. I don't want to drive with my children in the vehicle. Also steering wheel goes back and forth when I am in park and not touching it. Steering feels loose.”

NHTSA complaint #11191557, filed 2019-03, 150,000 miles

“While driving, idling, and parked my electronic stability control engages and the car jerks/hesitates. It acts like it's slipping yet the weather is warm and sunny. The light will come on saying 'service traction' and ESC off and service ESC. I've taken it to many mechanics but they don not know what the issue is. I bought the car in 2013 and it's been doing it on and off ever since.”

NHTSA complaint #11204486, filed 2019-04, 25,000 miles

“Brake lights illuminate without brake pedal being depressed, and do not illuminate when brake pedal is depressed while driving. Service traction, service erc, and ESC off warnings appear on dashboard. Nhtsa campaign # 14v252000, GM recall # 13036 was not applied to my VIN even though my manufacture date is 12/08, within the specifications of said recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10873027, filed 2016-06, 74,000 miles

“This morning leaving work after coming to a stop, when making a right turn to re-enter traffic halfway through the turn the power steering went completely out nearly causing me to hit an vehicle turning left onto the same street I was exiting. The power steering light illuminated on the dash for not nearly five seconds.”

NHTSA complaint #11011606, filed 2017-07, 128,000 miles

“While driving my daughter to school, I made a left turn into the school parking lot at a low rate of speed and steering went out. Power steering light illuminated and dash reads service ESC. Very difficult to steer. Turned car off and went to crank again...steering restored, indicator went off.”

NHTSA complaint #11156072, filed 2018-12, 225,000 miles
