“I had backed my car up to the front of the garage. I came to a complete stop. As I tried to put my car in park, my vehicle catapulted into the garage which was directly behind it. I believe my car experienced sudden uninterrupted acceleration . My cinder block garage partially collapsed and need to be completely razed.”

NHTSA complaint #11396815, filed 2021-02, 44,000 miles

“Lease date | 08/25/17 on 01/17/18 after several days of the eye sight system turning on and off, I notice that a piece of foam had fallen in the way of the passenger camera. I notified Subaru of america of this through their website and mike shaw Subaru fixed the issue. Today, after two day of eye sight system turning on and off, I notice that a piece of foam had now fallen in the way of the driver side camera. I have not had this repaired. …”

NHTSA complaint #11072782, filed 2018-02, 7,000 miles

“I had just entered the golf course parking lot and had turned right to enter a parking slot. My speed was less than 5 MPH. My car suddenly accelerated out of control, hit the concrete parking block and jumped over a 1 foot high wall which was 3 ft. Away from the block. The car ended up on a downslope and the rear wheel fortunately caught on a retaining wall. I was not injured and the airbags did not deploy. There was one witness to this terrifying event which occurred on february 4th at about 8:10 am in a parking spot that I have used at least 50 times in the past year.”

NHTSA complaint #11398779, filed 2021-03, 30,929 miles

“On curvy mountainous roads at or below posted speeds, the eyesight system brakes engage dangerously (e.g., traffic) and unexpectedly. The eyesight system is incorrectly sensing hillsides as hazards. The eyesight alarm is similarly triggered on street intersections.”

NHTSA complaint #11395802, filed 2021-02, 42,000 miles

“Vehicle was in motion on a highway when the driver heard the windshield crack. Driver never saw any item strike the windshield. Because eyesight sensors have to be recalibrated after a windshield replacement, this incident cost almost $1000 to repair.”

NHTSA complaint #11382942, filed 2020-12, 20,000 miles
