“2006 Suzuki Forenza which I bought in february 2008. The interior handle on the passenger and driver side broke off within 4 months of each other a year after I had the vehicle. Normal use of handles (trying to exit vehicle). Never experienced anything like that. After reading through your complaints, I see others have the same problem. I went to dealer who had no information about a recall. He informed me of the cost of $120+ to repair the two plus the cost of the handles.”

“I have 44,000 miles on my 2006 Suzuki Forenza - only 5 years old and the struts are gone! The front end of my car bounces like its on a trampoline! This should not be happening at 5 years old. Suzuki needs to make good on their bad struts on this car. I have seen lots of people complaining .. One of them at 21,000 miles.. And this hasn't been recalled? What gives? Also, I can't lock my car from the outside anymore. The airbag light is always on saying its not working. This car has lots of problems and I just bought it a year ago and ready to get rid of it and buy something else. …”

NHTSA complaint #10430755, filed 2011-10, 34,000 miles

“The driver owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. While driving approximately 45 MPH the vehicle stopped accelerating. It decelerated and would only drive at speeds lower than approximately 20 MPH. The service warning lights also began to illuminate on the dashboard. The vehicle was stopped and shifted into park; upon shifting it back into drive the vehicle operated as normal. The failure continued to recur and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. …”

NHTSA complaint #10366888, filed 2010-11, 27,000 miles

“I have purchased a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. As a certified crime prevention inspector, I have discovered features of this vehicle that will prove to be a safety concern for any driver/owner of this vehicle. The locks on the vehicle do no operate independently. The driver of the vehicle controls all locking devices on his/her side. An example of this is that the passenger if the vehicle cannot open his/her door if it is locked. The driver has to open the door. In the event that the driver is incapacitated the passenger would have extreme difficulty getting out of the car. …”

NHTSA complaint #10148263, filed 2006-01

The identical failure occurred with the rear door as well. Currently, the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 36,000 and current mileage was 50,000.”
