“I received a recall letter from Suzuki motors about my 06 gsxr 1000. The recall is for the frame cracking under stress. I took the frame to a local Suzuki dealership and they told me the frame had a hairline crack in it. The service manager informed me the frame was on the recall list and that it most likely should be replaced. He sent photos of the frame to Suzuki motors almost a month and a half ago. Three weeks into the process they had a service rep from the dealer come to my house and took pics of the other parts of my motorcycle. …”
NHTSA complaint #10275785, filed 2009-07, 7,320 miles“The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000. While riding over a bump at 95 MPH, the main frame underneath the fuel tank snapped. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to the dealer. The contact was injured. The dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that the failure was due to driver error and not a manufacturer defect. The contact, however, believes it was due to a manufacturer defect. The powertrain was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 9,000.”
