“My car's check engine light came on a month after I got the car in 2007. The throttle body had to be replaced on it. The dealership paid for it to be replaced. In 2008 my car did the same thing and the throttle body had to be replaced again. Now, my car is coming up with the same code again. This is keeping me from getting my car inspected.”
NHTSA complaint #10297599, filed 2009-12, 89,000 miles“I purchased the 2004 Suzuki Verona last year from a third party. The engine stalls in the middle of the street. It completely stops. Last year it stopped completely and would not turn on. Luckily no cars were behind me. I had to call the tow truck and fix it. The problem was with the fuel injection. I went online and checked for recall. There were recalls for the engine stall but only for 2004. The corporate office informed me that since it was a 2005 year, they cannot fix the problem. I spent almost $700 and now the problem started arising again last saturday. The engine almost stalled. …”

NHTSA complaint #10573527, filed 2014-03, 115,000 miles“Immediately after purchasing the 2005 Verona in april 2012, from a local used car dealership, we started having problems. The check engine light came on within a day or two, the airbag and tire pressure warning lights also came on. The dealer kept telling us they could not find anything wrong to cause the engine light to come on. One mechanic finally said it was just the gas cap not being tight enough. This dealer said that they could not determine why the airbag and tire pressure lights were on. The car began hesitating when trying to accelerate and would almost stall. …”

The contact stated that the vehicle was decelerating approximately 45 MPH, and the engine stalled without warning. The engine restarted and resumed in operation. The failure occurred sporadically when decelerating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on numerous occasions for the identical failure where they were unable to duplicate the problem. The failure continued to occur. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic for diagnostic testing and they detected a failure code within the throttle body. …”
