“On 2005 to 2008 Toyota Avalon limited models the 3rd break light works sometimes and other time it doesn't I have looked on a lot of forum and so many people are complaining about the same problem and I got a warning for it”

NHTSA complaint #11219761, filed 2019-06, 127,000 miles

“We leased a new 2005 Toyota Avalon.immediately, after driving 6 miles,we started hearing a clunk from the left rear. I called Toyota and they said they would check it when I came back to put the spoiler on.they were able to duplicate the noise and kept the car for several days. I did get corporate Toyota involved because this dealership has been untrustworthy since day one when the lease was written up wrong-they called and said they needed to replace the left rear lower sub frame and bushings because they were worn. …”

NHTSA complaint #10119869, filed 2005-05, 31 miles

“I have a 2005 Avalon and there is a hesitation between the pushing of the brake pedal and the actual braking of the car, the same is true for the gas pedal. The service manager at the dealership went on a test drive with me and told me that these actions were found in other Toyota products and there was not yet a fix on them. I had taken the car back three times and on the final repair trip the service department wrote that the car was to manufacturer specs. I have filed a complaint with Toyota and have not received a response as of yet.”

NHTSA complaint #10145698, filed 2005-12, 5,000 miles

“Leaks. My stereo system shorted out due to leaking water from windshield area. I since learned Toyota knew about at least 2 leaking problems (in TSB’s) however the coverage was only for 36,000 miles or 36 months. I didn’t detect these issues until after that time. Now it will cost Thou$ands to remedy.”

NHTSA complaint #11449965, filed 2022-02

“Dashboard and airbag covers including dash are badly cracked, airbag safety is potentially compromised if deployed. The car is available for inspection at my residence at any time. Toyota offered to supply and replace dash covers to fix this danger, but parts were never made available. The hazard remains.”
